Left-Handed Keyboards for Lefties & Righties

Where Ergonomic Products Came From

Ergonomic products have been a response to the standard work-issued products that have been turned out since 1960.  We’re all familiar with the over-sized monitors, stale keyboards, and uncomfortable mice from years gone by.  Over those years, use of those standard products have increased in time and in injury.  More and more workers are using their computers and computer accessories throughout the work day and at home for fun.  That’s part of what has led to the increase of injuries- more time spent on computers lends more opportunity for problems.  However, the other major contributing factor is poor design of products.

Enter ergonomic products.  From better use of space to more efficient typing to alleviation of pain and prevention of injuries, ergonomic keyboards provide state of the art quality for a variety of needs.

Left-Handed Keyboards for Lefties & Righties

While there are many fabulous and well-designed ergonomic products, today we’re going to focus on the left-handed keyboard.  By nature of being left-handed, this keyboard is ergonomic- designed for comfort and ease of use.
Far from the days of forcing lefties to be righties , these days lefties can take advantage of their natural strengths of left-handed typing with the number pad and directional arrows on the left.
Now, here’s the great news- left-handed keyboards aren’t just for lefties!  It’s not really fair that right-handed typists can get the benefits of a keyboard designed for left-handed typists.  Nevertheless, the main benefit for right-handed users is that with the number pad and directional arrows to the left, righties can center their keyboards slightly to the left, pulling in their mice for better ergonomic comfort.  The fewer and smaller the movements while typing, the better for efficiency and ergonomic comfort.  Thus, freeing up the space on the right side of the keyboard allows for closer placement of your mouse, which is ergonomically ideal.
There are a variety of left-handed keyboards to choose and benefit from, whether you’re a leftie or a rightie!
