Why Lefties & Righties Both Love Left-Handed Keyboards

The Evolution to Ergonomic

You might think that all keyboards are the same, or at least very similarly…they all have the same characters, right?  What can really change?  Well, standard keyboards are all the same, but ergonomic keyboards are not.  From wireless to split to contoured to mac-friendly to mini-sized, ergonomic keyboards cover a wide variety of features since users have a wide variety of needs.  One variation is the left-handed keyboard, and unlike it’s name implies, left-handed keyboards are beloved by lefties and righties alike!

Left-Handed Keyboards for Lefties & Righties

let’s start with the left-handed keyboard and what it has to offer lefties.  Finally, there’s a keyboard that doesn’t force a leftie to type right-hand dominant.  Most  keyboards place the number pad and arrow keys on the right since most people are right-handed.  However, a left-handed keyboards pops them to the left side so that lefties can type more comfortably because they no longer have to force themselves to use their right hands for computing numbers or scrolling up and down.
In contrast, you might wonder how this works out for righties?  The main benefit for right-handed users is that with the number pad and directional arrows to the left, righties can center their keyboards slightly to the left, pulling in their mice for better ergonomic comfort.  This ideal because the fewer and smaller the movements while typing, the better for efficiency and ergonomic comfort.  Centering your keyboard and freeing up the space on the right side of the keyboard allows for closer placement of your mouse, which is also ergonomically ideal so that you don’t strain your wrist reaching for it.  It’s not really fair that right-handed typists can get the benefits of a keyboard designed for left-handed typists.  However, let’s celebrate that this story involves good news for all!
There are a variety of left-handed keyboards to choose and benefit from, whether you’re a leftie or a rightie!
